Bibliography

The difficulty with a work of this type, (many sections of diverse publications, special publications,  supplements, newspaper cuttings etc.) means that defining actual source and publication date, let alone copyright obligations, is not the easiest of tasks.

And during the course of a century, such distinctions become ever more blurred and obscure. I have cross referenced some of the articles to confirm certain facts and figures and the sources I have used are listed below, though it is far from being a comprehensive list.

Since I earn no income from anything I publish here, and therefore do not benefit from the work of others, should anybody who recognises their own work wish to have due acknowledgment or to have it removed, please let me know.
